Changing for the Comeback
Reading through the business sites I like to visit, I came across a an article on www.businessweek.com that told the comeback stories of 5 global brands: Nintendo, Audi, Hewlett-Packard, Burberry, and Citi. The 5 lessons they outlined were:
br>
1. Daring to go after a new crowd (Nintendo)
2. Hatching a plan and sticking to it (Audi)
3. Challenging the status quo (Hewlett Packard)
4. Mining the past to seize the future (Burberry)
5. Staying big but going local (Citi)

I won’t do justice to the piece but you can read the whole thing here.

I really wanted to write about come backs because, more than the mistakes of people, we really would like this column to encourage and teach people how to rise above mistakes and failures and come back stronger and wiser.
br>
As I read through the articles and their different strategies and execution plans, I noticed that they all reached a point where they realized, “Something has to change. We can’t stay the way we are or we’re never getting out of this.”
br>
There are probably areas in our own lives that we want to take to a higher level. Maybe it’s our health, or our finances, or our businesses practices, or our relationships, but whatever it is, if we are to see the improvements, we need to identify the things we need to change.
br>
So as a practical tip for today, ask ourselves one simple question regarding our vocation: What are the things I need to change that may be keeping me from my own personal come back.

I’d like to hear your answers, thoughts, and about your own amazing comebacks. Please email me at davidmichaelbonifacio@gmail.com.
